As we prepare to emerge from lockdown, we are working on some really exciting initiatives to encourage more people in Thurrock to get onto the water. In order to support this we are looking for individuals to join us to help supervise and support recreational sailing activities on sheltered and tidal waters

If you are enthusiastic about sailing and experienced enough to feel confident about sharing your knowledge with others, then we would love to hear from you. If you have previous experience in organisations such as the Sea Cadets or Scouts we would REALLY love to hear form you!

We are particularly interested in hearing from people aged 18 to 25 who are eligible for our Midshipman membership, although we welcome enquiries from anybody in an older age bracket. You will need to hold Powerboat Level 2 qualifications and a current first aid qualification, although if you don't hold these currently we may be be able to assist you with gaining them.  As people fulfilling these duties are likely to come into contact with young people you will also require DBS clearance which the club can arrange.

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity and you will have flexibility in how you contribute your time. In coming on board with us you will become a member of a great club with loads of potential and ambitious plans to develop sailing in our corner of Essex.

The full Volunteer Profile can be accessed here and outlines the benefits and expectations associated with this opportunity. If you are interested in finding out more, please complete our Volunteer enquiry form, and we will get back to you.
